It’s the final four as we move to day 21 of our very own special Christmas Movie Advent Calendar, the Screen One Christmas Movie Countdown. Join with us as we continue to countdown to Christmas with a new movie to watch each day as the days get ever closer to the big day. All films are availble via various streaming and terrestrial TV services.

Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie and the entire cast of the Muppet universe come together to re-tell Charles Dicken’s immortal classic “A Christmas Carol” This was the first time the Muppets appeared on screen since Jim Henson’s death in 1990. Michael Caine gives a magnificent performance as Ebenezer Scrooge in a world full of muppet comedy and almost scary performances from the “Ghosts of Christmas past, present, and yet to come

We said there would be more than one version of Dicken’s A Christmas Carol in the list and there would be no prizes for guessing that the Muppets redition would be here at some point. Argueably the best of the classic Muppet movies (Pre James Bobin’s wonderful The Muppets revival in 2011). Not only was it the first Muppet movie after the passing of Jim Henson but also Richard Hunt (Who voiced Scooter, Statler, Janice, Beaker and Sweetums.) The film is dedicated both at the end. Also, there’s an added bonus now as Disney+ and all streaming versions of the film now have the infamous ‘When Love Is Gone’ missing song back in.

So, as much as seeing Sound Of Music over Christmas is a tradition so is this, so today we present The Muppet Christmas Carol for your Day 21 choice on the Screen One Christmas Movie Countdown.
