Screen One Movie Musicals Month - Dreamgirls Screen One

It was the one that Eddie Murphy should have got the Oscar for. It was the one that was meant to launch Beyonce’s movei career. Instead Alan Arkin won the award for Little Miss Sunshine. Jennifer Hudson, who had jsut graduated from the Pop Idol finals star shot to the moon instead. However, Bill Condon’s Dreamgirls was an absolute smash and features the show stopping number “Listen” from Beyonce and “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” from Hudson. It also garnered Hudson not only with an Oscar nomination, but she walked away with the statue as well. Dreamgirls also features Jamie Foxx and Danny Glover as well. It all adds up to a spectacular nights entertainment and one you should watch soon or again.
