Movie Musicals Month - Fiddler on the Roof poster Screen One

Norman Jewison put together one of the most classic stage musicals onto the screen (The other we will come onto later this month) with Topol at the absolute pinnacle of his career (Well aside from playing Doctor Hans Zarkhov in Flash Gordon) in this grand scale musical. The song that every knows of course “If I Were A Rich Man” but there are so many more classics in here “Tradition”, “Sunrise. Sunset” and “Matchmaker” of course, but the film is finding a new resonance in these current times. But revel and enjoy this wonderful musical about a man simply trying to attain some peace by marrying off his five daughters.
