Annie Dir: John Huston Stream: Currently not available on any streaming platforms
Annie, an orphan living under the tyrannical thumb of Miss Hannigan, gets lucky when she is selected to stay at the residence of a wealthy industrialist.
Release date: 7 July 1982 (UK)
Following on from that other orphan (Oliver!) we now have another one in the shape of Annie. And the version you should be watching is the clasic 1982 version complete with a show stealing Carole Burnett, Tim Curry, Bernadette Peters, Albert Finney and of course Aileen Quinn as Annie. Forget the recent 2014 remake with Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx, while it’s an ok remake it’s not a patch on this.
