Review: Justice League Crisis on Infinite Earths Part One

JL Crisis on Inifinte Earths P1 review cover on Screen One

Tomorrowverse, offering fans a compelling narrative deeply rooted in the DC multiverse. While the title suggests a focus on the entire Justice League, this installment surprises by centering predominantly on the Scarlet Speedster, Flash. Embracing the rich tapestry of the multiverse, the film expertly weaves together various dimensions, offering an exhilarating ride through time and space.

Death is coming. Worse than death: oblivion. Not just for our Earth, but for everyone, everywhere, in every universe! Against this ultimate destruction, the mysterious Monitor has gathered the greatest team of Super Heroes ever assembled. But what can the combined might of Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, The Flash, Green Lantern and hundreds of Super Heroes from multiple Earths even do to save all of reality from an unstoppable antimatter armageddon?!

Matt Bomer’s portrayal of the Flash is electrifying, capturing the essence of the character with charm and wit. The animation shines brightest during the action sequences, with each lightning-fast movement rendered with breathtaking precision. The stakes are high as the fate of countless worlds hangs in the balance, and the emotional depth explored amidst the chaos adds layers of complexity to the storyline.

Part of the Tomorrowverse continuity, this installment seamlessly connects with previous narratives, rewarding loyal viewers with callbacks and Easter eggs while also remaining accessible to newcomers. However, the emphasis on Flash might disappoint some Justice League purists, as other members take a backseat in this chapter.

As usual the Disc comes with sparse but eloborate extras include a “Primer” that for anyone who is just jumping into Crisis without watching the 10 film setup that begins with Superman: Man of Tomorrow, it gives you all the backgorund and where key moments in part one and beyond will come from.
