Goodbye, Petrushka, the debut feature from filmmaker Nicola Rose, will make its world premiere at Dances With Films Festival in Los Angeles on June 12th, 2022.
The film is produced by Parsley Productions in association with Baum18 Media, Irrational Productions and CuffLink Productions. Parsley Productions is releasing a first look at the film’s art and trailer.
Goodbye, Petrushka, a coming-of-age comedy, tells the story of Claire, a 19-year-old oddball who dreams of going to Paris. But when she and her crazy best friend Julia try their hand at Parisian life, nothing quite goes as planned. Whether she’s falling in love, battling wacky French bureaucrats, or escaping a toxic nannying situation, Claire’s stint in Paris is one long bout of screwing up — and, in the end, growing up.
The film is written and directed by Nicola Rose and stars Lizzie Kehoe, Thomas Vieljeux, Casey Landman, Bartek Szymanski, Cat Grey, and Joëlle Haddad-Champeyroux. Tierney Boorboor (p.g.a.) and Nicola Rose (p.g.a.) serve as Producers, while Mark A. Baum, Ed Cuffe, Mike Reuten, and Imraan Faruhki serve as Executive Producers.
Director Nicola Rose states: “I have always wished there were more stories about young people — women especially — that show the awkwardness, embarrassments and sorrows of your early 20s, without prettifying them or wrapping them up neatly with a bow. Goodbye, Petrushka is not just about how tough those times are — it’s also about how funny they are.”
