101 Films presents acclaimed cult drama Glengarry Glen Ross (1992), widely regarded as one of the finest films of the 90s. Adapted for the screen by David Mamet from his Pulitzer Prize-winning play, the compelling, witty and endlessly quotable script is delivered with razor-sharp precision by an ensemble cast at the height of their powers.

Title 037 on the 101 Films Black Label, this limited-edition release includes commentaries with director James Foley and screen legend Jack Lemmon, along with archive interviews and documentaries, enclosed in a limited-edition slipcase featuring newly commissioned artwork, and a limited-edition booklet with brand new writing on the film.

David Mamet’s original play “Glengarry Glen Ross” premiered at the National Theatre, London in 1983. Lauded for its ensemble’s performance the play claimed the Pulitzer Prize in 1984. Mamet then went on to adapt his play for the big screen, with James Foley brought in to direct. Mamet’s razor-sharp screenplay along with the huge success of the play attracted one of the finest ensembles ever assembled, with Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Alan Arkin, Ed Harris and Jonathan Pryce all featuring. Despite having this all-star cast committed to the project financial backing was harder to attract; major studios were apparently put off by the subject matter and explicit language. Glengarry Glen Ross was eventually released in 1992, underwhelming at the box office despite widespread critical acclaim. The film went on to become a cult classic and is now widely regarded one of the finest films of the decade.

This limited-edition release includes short documentary “A.B.C. (Always Be Closing)” as well as two commentariesl one with director James Foley, another with screen legend Jack Lemmon, and much more. Enclosed in a limited- edition slipcase featuring newly commissioned artwork, the package also features a booklet with brand new writing on the film ‘Death of a Fuckin’ $ale$man: Defining an American Dramatic Tradition’ by Rich Johnson and ‘Glengarry Glen Ross and The All-American Loser’ by Andrew Graves.
