Disney/Pixar have announced that the eagerly awaited Soul is bypassing cinemas and headed straight for their streaming platform Disney+.
In a move that follows on from the successful live action Mulan earlier this year, Disney have now moved the second of their big releases to the platform during the global pandemic. In yet another blow to cinema chains across the world, what would have been a major family movie for the holiday season is now lost to Disney’s streaming revolution that we wrote about previously here:
We would suggest that if any of the upcoming Marvel titles (Black Widow/The Eternals) move straight to the platform then Disney’s plans moving forward maybe permanently on the streaming platform and that cinemas will suffer major losses that many will never recover from.
Let us know what you think about this latest move from Disney.
