About Nexus Production Group
Nexus Production Group was founded in 2007 by Ivan Malekin and Patrick Siscar. In 2013, Sarah Jayne Portelli joined the company, which is now Malta based.
In 2017, after a number of short film endeavors, NPG turned their focus to improvised filmmaking. From that shift their 24 hour feature film Friends, Foes & Fireworks was born, proving to be a successful and creative micro-budget filmmaking method, which the company fully embraced.
Aside from producing and shooting feature films In Corpore, Machination, ForeFans, and documentaries No Woman is an Island and Cats of Malta since that improvised experiment, Ivan and Sarah have filmed and released eleven episodes of web series Life Improvised, filming in multiple countries around the world. The duo also teach improvised film techniques, both online through Udemy and IFH Academy, and through live workshops at schools, film events, and through Zoom. Ivan’s 2021 book Improv for Indie Filmmakers is a testament to their passion for micro-budget filmmaking and their extensive library of diverse films.
