Today is the king of the psycological horror films with a couple of masterful central performances from Jodie Foster and a Oscar winning turn from Anthony Hopkins. While some may not consider it an out and out horror, it certainly doesn’t pull any punches. The sequels had varying levels of success (Hannibal, Red Dragon). But this outside of Manhunter (Michael Mann’s version of Red Dragon with Brian Cox as Lecter) this is the best of the Hannibal Lecter movies.
