The follow up that’s actually a prequel to X. Pearl, one of the most refreshing horrors of recent years that stuns and shocks right up to the very last frame. Mia Goth is simply amazing in this as the titular Pearl. It’s a film that Ti West has a clear plan and executes with serious aplomb. When it’s violent, it’s very violent. When it’s gory, it’s very gory. But when it needs drama, romance and storytelling, it has all that too. But it’s the lingering final shot over the credits that will probably unsettle you the most.
